MPOGCF and UKM have embarked on a collaborative research project titled ‘Oil Palm Plantation Landscape as Wildlife Refuge: A Way Forward for Wildlife Friendly Plantations’, aimed to uncover how oil palm plantations could coexist harmoniously with the diverse array of wildlife found in Malaysia, especially within the oil palm plantation landscapes. MPOGCF has allocated over RM600,000 to a group of researchers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to conduct biodiversity studies in oil palm plantations in Peninsular Malaysia. A total of four oil palm plantations FGV were selected as the study areas, namely FGV Lepar, Pahang, FGV Setiu, Terengganu, FGV Aring Gua Musang, Kelantan, and FGV Tenggaroh, Johor.
