MPOGCF telah menyumbangkan 10 unit perangkap kamera kepada Fakulti Sains dan Matematik, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) pada 20 Januari 2026.
Penyerahan perangkap kamera itu disampaikan oleh Pengurus Besar MPOGCF, Hairulazim Mahmud kepada kepada Dekan Fakulti Sains dan Matematik UPSI, Profesor Dr. Mohd Faizal Nizam Lee Abdullah di kampus induk UPSI, Tanjung Malim. Turut hadir pada majlis itu, Pengurus Pemuliharaan dan Kemampanan, MPOGCF, Ahmad Shahdan Kasim; Timbalan Dekan, Dr Fatimah Azzahra Ahmad Rashid; dan Pengarah Program, Profesor Madya Dr. Syakirah Samsudin.
Hairulazim berkata, peralatan tersebut akan digunakan untuk memantau kepelbagaian mamalia kecil bagi menyokong agenda kelestarian alam sekitar negara.
Katanya, inisiatif ini membuktikan komitmen MPOGCF dalam menyokong penyelidikan berasaskan sains dan pemantauan biodiversiti jangka panjang. Beliau turut menekankan kolaborasi bersama institusi pengajian tinggi seperti UPSI amat penting dalam membentuk generasi masa hadapan yang lebih cakna kepada kelestarian biodiversiti negara.
Perangkap kamera yang disumbangkan ini pernah digunakan oleh pasukan penyelidik UKM untuk kajian biodiversiti dalam lanskap kelapa sawit.

The Malaysian Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation (MPOGCF) contributed ten (10) units of camera traps to the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) on 20 January 2026.
The handover ceremony was officiated by MPOGCF General Manager, Hairulazim Mahmud, who presented the camera traps to the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, UPSI, Professor Dr. Mohd Faizal Nizam Lee Abdullah, at UPSI’s main campus in Tanjung Malim. Also present at the ceremony were MPOGCF Manager of Conservation and Sustainability, Ahmad Shahdan Kasim; Deputy Dean, Dr. Fatimah Azzahra Ahmad Rashid; and Programme Director, Associate Professor Dr. Syakirah Samsudin.
In his remarks, Hairulazim stated that the equipment will be utilised to monitor small mammal diversity as part of efforts to support the nation’s environmental sustainability agenda. He noted that the initiative reflects MPOGCF’s continued commitment to supporting science-based research and long-term biodiversity monitoring.
He further emphasised that collaboration with institutions of higher learning such as UPSI is crucial in nurturing future generations who are more aware of and committed to the conservation of the country’s biodiversity.
The camera traps contributed by MPOGCF were previously used by a research team from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in biodiversity studies conducted within oil palm landscapes.
