MPOGCF is proud to have participated in the International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB) for the second time. This year’s event took place from 15 to 19 June 2025 in Brisbane, Australia. Hosted by the SCB Oceania Region, the congress was held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Led by MPOGCF General Manager Hairulazim Mahmud, Strategic Communication Executive Nur Amira Fauzi, and Conservation and Sustainability Executive Nur Fatin Amirah Ahmad Amri, our team stayed actively engaged at the booth, attending to a steady stream of visitors who stopped by to learn, connect, and explore collaboration opportunities.
ICCB is a global platform to address conservation challenges and present new research in conservation science and practice. This year, our presence was even more meaningful as we supported and sponsored our strategic partners. Conservation and Biodiversity Manager from SD Guthrie Aida Ghani Quilter, presented on ‘Achieving Human-Elephant Coexistence: A Collaborative Landscape Conservation in Malaysia’ while Jia Chern Lim from the Management and Ecology of Malaysian Elephants (MEME) shared insights on ‘Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus) Habitat Selection in the Rainforest and Agricultural Landscapes in Peninsular Malaysia’.
At ICCB, what we shared went beyond facts and figures. Through meaningful conversations with visitors and other exhibitors, we told of our journey in promoting coexistence, protecting biodiversity and the years of consistent effort behind it. These stories connected us with others who share the same vision, and every interaction reminded us that the work we do in Malaysia carries weight and relevance far beyond our borders.
Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, exchanged ideas, and supported our mission for a more sustainable palm oil industry.
