Pasukan MPOGCF bersama Ketua Projek Kajian UNIMAS, Prof Dr Mohd Azlan Jayasilan bin Abdul Gulam Azad telah turun padang melakukan pemantauan kerja-kerja lapangan di ladang sawit milik SALCRA Saribas di Saratok, Sarawak pada 4 dan 5 Mac 2024.
Projek “Managing Biodiversity of Conservation Concern in Oil Palm Areas in Sarawak”, bertujuan mengumpul maklumat kepelbagaian biologi terutamanya spesis mamalia di ladang-ladang sawit di Sarawak.
Sebanyak 20 perangkap kamera dipasang di kawasan HCV di ladang sawit milik Lembaga Penyatuan dan Pemulihan Tanah Sarawak (SALCRA) bagi merekodkan kehadiran hidupan liar.
Kerja lapangan seterusnya dijangka diadakan pada April 2024 di ladang sawit milik Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB).
🟨 Monitoring the field work of the MPOGCF-UNIMAS project in Sarawak
The MPOGCF team, together with the UNIMAS Research Project Leader, Prof. Dr. Mohd Azlan Jayasilan bin Abdul Gulam Azad, went to the field to monitor the field work at the oil palm plantation owned by SALCRA Saribas in Saratok, Sarawak, on March 4 and 5, 2024.
The “Managing Biodiversity of Conservation Concern in Oil Palm Areas in Sarawak” project aims to collect information on biodiversity, especially mammal species, in oil palm plantations in Sarawak.
A total of 20 camera traps were installed in the HCV area in the oil palm plantations owned by the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) to record the presence of wildlife.
The next fieldwork is expected to be held in April 2024 at a palm plantation owned by Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB).
