MPOGCF successfully organised its first engagement programme with the media recently which saw 𝟰𝟬 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 ranging from traditional newspapers to online portals gathering under one roof at Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar for 𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗚𝗖𝗙 𝗛𝗶-𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

The programme was aimed at further developing and strengthening the relationship between MPOGCF and the media, with a closer look into the various conservation projects by MPOGCF and their measurable impacts, while allowing for productive dialogue in real time.

𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗚𝗖𝗙 𝗛𝗶-𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 received strong support from Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC), Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Malaysian Palm Oil Board and Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC) who were all present with representatives from its senior leadership as well as communications team.

During the programme, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗚𝗖𝗙, 𝗬𝗕𝗿𝘀. 𝗘𝗻 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗵𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗕𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱 called upon the media to help champion the palm oil industry and spread news of various conservation efforts carried out by MPOGCF, while countering false and inaccurate claims made by irresponsible parties abroad. The message was also reiterated in a speech by 𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗖𝗚𝗙’𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀, 𝗬𝗕𝗵𝗴. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗼’ 𝗗𝗿. 𝗪𝗮𝗻 𝗭𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘄𝗶 𝗕𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹.

The programme ended with a special lucky draw session which saw winners bringing home holiday packages and premium hampers as prizes.
